 reflections on a bench

         dedicated to Christmas Carol

I sit and gaze upon a park bench

a gift, on hill, facing the sea.

a placard with the names of her beloved

a respite surrounded by green pastures

The sun beats down upon the slats

the wind and laughter and joy abound

at night the mist collects into droplets

to help the grasses grow

She went alone to face her fate

nothing left or left to say,

We alone are left to wait

for another sunset, another day

Hear this prayer and tell our mother that we love her so

Tell all the brothers and the sisters so that they will know

My wife Faith and Carol's 4 grandaughters sitting on the Seascape Resort Park Bench
